A State of Chaos

Presented as part of a group exhibition at the Howard Assembly Room Atrium, Leeds.
In this installation, I call on pieces from my Aghani Banat series as actors, lending their expressions and silent songs to the stage of a disrupted world.
Their faces and lyrics, once carrying humour, longing and celebration, suddenly reflect the pain and uncertainty of war. Carried by the sand, they form pockets of personal suffering and defiance, together composing a wider scene of collective loss, survival and turmoil.
A State of Chaos holds a silent scene to remember Sudan for a moment.
